JOSH AND JAKE HARRIS SIGN ON FOR DISCOVERY CHANNEL’S ‘DEADLIEST CATCH’
Sons of the late Captain Phil Harris to return to the Bering Sea in October
(Silver Spring, Md.) – Discovery Channel President and General Manager Clark Bunting announced that Josh and Jake Harris, the sons of Captain Phil Harris, will expand their participation in DEADLIEST CATCH. The Harris’s had fished with their father as deckhands on F/V Cornelia Marie and been featured on DEADLIEST CATCH during the past several seasons of the series. With this new agreement, Josh and Jake Harris will continue their involvement in the series and ultimately, increase their experience on the sea with the hopes of becoming captains.
“Josh and Jake are part of the Discovery family,” said Bunting. “We shared a very tough year together and look forward to continuing this special relationship in the future. Right now, they want to get back to fishing and we are doing everything that we can to support that.”
DEADLIEST CATCH documents the king crab fishing season, which spans mid-October to mid-December, and the opilio or snow crab fishing season that runs January to March. Josh and Jake will be headed to Dutch Harbor, Alaska for the start of production and fishing as boats depart for the icy and treacherous waters of the Bering Sea.
