LIVE+7 RATINGS: EMPIRE WEEK FIVE RISES TO 6.6 RATING WITH ADULTS 18-49,
FAMILY GUY AND BOB’S BURGERS POST HIGHEST PERCENTAGE GAINS THIS SEASON
FOX had two of the week’s Top 10 telecasts across all of broadcast and cable: EMPIRE (#4, 6.6/19) and AMERICAN IDOL-Wed (#10 tie, 3.8/12).
Week five of record-breaking drama EMPIRE rose to a 6.6/19, its highest L7 A18-49 rating to date. In addition, this marks EMPIRE’s largest actual rating point gain (+2.0) versus its Live + Same Day delivery.
Over its first five episodes, EMPIRE is averaging a 6.0/18 L7 rating, outpacing the season’s #2 broadcast dramas, How To Get Away with Murder (5.1/16) and NBC’s Blacklist (5.1/15), by +18%. EMPIRE’s L7 trend in the core adult demo is as follows: 5.6/16 > 5.6/17 > 6.3/19 > 6.1/18 > 6.6/19.
GOTHAM grew +68% to a 3.2/10 rating – adding a full +1.3 rating point after 7 days of delayed viewing.
BACKSTROM’s third telecast delivered its highest percentage increase from LS to L7, with its season trend as follows: +42% > +50% > +60%.
AMERICAN IDOL- Weds (3.8/12, +6%) and AMERICAN IDOL-Thurs (3.2/10, +14%) were both up from their most recent L7 telecast deliveries. IDOL’s Thursday telecast posted its highest LS to L7 percentage increase so far this season (+33%) and ranked as the week’s #17 (tie) program.
On Sunday, FAMILY GUY (+71%) and BOB’S BURGERS (+50%) each posted their highest Live + Same Day to Live + 7 percentage increases this season. THE SIMPSONS (+33%) tied its largest percentage lift, and BROOKLYN NINE-NINE (+67%) marked its second highest LS to L7 increase this season.
Also noteworthy on broadcast: In the L7 Adults 18-49 ratings, The Grammy Awards (9.1/25) was down -15% from last year’s telecast (vs. 10.7/27).
