New York, NY – November 8, 2010 – Millions of viewers tuned in to BET on Sunday, November 7 for one of the most extraordinary nights on television to watch the premiere of BLACK GIRLS ROCK!™ at 8:00 p.m.* The first ever telecast of BLACK GIRLS ROCK!™ was the #1 cable special among women (18 +) on television in 4Q10, with 2.7 million totalviewers and a 2.14 coverage rating among 1.94 million households according to Nielsen Media Research.**Additionally, BLACK GIRLS ROCK!™ more than tripled the time period slot for the calendar year 2010.

Hosted by Nia Long, BLACK GIRLS ROCK!™ honored the most exceptional women of color in the country from Missy Elliot to Raven Symone and featured performances and appearances by Malinda Williams, Shontelle, Lynn Whitfield, Keri Hilson, Ciara, VV Brown, Monica, Keyshia Cole, Estelle, Kym Whitley, and  more.
