‘I Love Jenni’ Season Finale finishes as Highest Finale Ever for Network, Series was #1 on Sunday Nights

UNIVERSAL CITY, CA – August 28 , 2013 – mun2, the leading cable network targeting Hispanic Millennial adults, had its original and acquisition programs grow its audience up to triple digits in the month of August, according to Nielsen. Original programs “I Love Jenni,”  “Larrymania” and “Fugitivos de la Ley: Los Angeles,” Deportes Telemundo on mun2 “Barclays Premiere League” and novela “Pasion de Gavilanes” drove audience growth for the month compared to previous year. Network original “I Love Jenni” finished its final season, setting records as the most-watched finale to-date for the network.

The network was up in prime with adults 18-49 and women 18-49 and on Sunday night prime with all key demos, up +35% (113,000) total viewers, +38% (73,000) adults 18-49, and +11% (41,000) adults 18-34. mun2 continues to beat Spanish Language Broadcast networks Estrella, Azteca and MundoFox in both Total Prime (Monday-Sunday, 7 p.m.-11 p.m.) and Total Day (Monday-Sunday., 8 am-2am) with adults 18-34 during the month of August,

During fringe, the network was #1 and the fastest growing among total viewers, adults 18-34 and adults 18-49, beating Discovery en Español, Galavision, Fox Deportes and Tr3s. continued its growth with video streams, up +194% year-over-year and up 118% in unique visitors year-over-year.  “I Love Jenni” season three content hit the one million view mark for VOD in August, and over 4 million total video streams on for the on-air run of the final season. “I Love Jenni” drove nearly 31% of all video streams on for the month with almost 550,000 streams.

August Program Highlights:

“I Love Jenni” Season 3 (Sunday, 9p.m.):

“I Love Jenni” ended its final season as the most-watched mun2 original program in the network’s history. It was the #1 show among Hispanic cable networks on Sunday nights among adults 18-49 (110,000) and adults 18-34 (55,000), as well as women 18-49 (76,000) and women 18-34 (40,000). It reached a total of 5.5 million people across all of its telecasts during the third season run, lifting the networks Sunday night time period by +140% total viewers, +116% adults 18-49 and +62% adults 18-34. “I Love Jenni” finished as the fifth most-watched program with Hispanic females 18-49 and seventh most-watched series, regardless of language, with Hispanic adults 18-49. The series outpaced MTV, Lifetime, Comedy Central, BET, FX, Spike, among others.

“Larrymania,” Season 2 (Sunday, 9 p.m.)

Season two of the Hispanic celebrity reality series “Larrymania” premiered on August 18 and helped drive the network to being the #1 Hispanic cable network for adults 18-34, out-delivering Galavision, Discovery en Español and Tr3s. In its two-week average, season two was up +243% (96,000) in total viewers, +300% (60,000) in adults 18-49 and +177% (36,000) adults 18-34 for its time period vs. the prior year in August.

Fugitivos de la Ley: Los Angeles (Sunday, 8 p.m.)

This re-creation bounty-hunter reality series had double-digit audience growth with its new episodes in August up +34% (94,000) with total viewers and up +45% (64,000) adults 18-49 vs. the prior year in August. It was the most watched program among males 18-34 (29,000) outperforming Galavision, Discovery en Español, Fox Deportes and Tr3s.

Deportes Telemundo on mun2 presents “Barclays Premiere League”

The first mun2 airing of the “Barclays Premiere League” soccer season brought higher deliveries to the time period vs. prior year in August for adults 18-49 and total viewers. The “Arsenal vs. Aston Villa” (Saturday, August 17, 9:55am EST) match lifted the period by +52% (35,000) with adults 18-49 and +75% (56,000) total viewers; and the “Swansea City vs. Manchester United” (Saturday, August 17, 12:25 p.m. EST) match brought +112% (32,000) adults 18-49 and +17% (49,000) total viewers. The “Tottenham vs. Swansea City” match (Sunday, August 25, 10:55 a.m. EST) +100% (30,000) adults 18-49 and +21% (35,000) total viewers.

“Pasion De Gavilanes”(Monday-Thursday, 6 p.m.; Monday/Tuesday/Thursday, 7 p.m.)

Captivating telenovela “Pasion De Gavilanes” was the #1 program in the 6-8 p.m. block. It drove viewers at 6 p.m., up +144% (178,000) in total viewers, +195% (112,000) in adults 18-49 and +152% (58,000) in adults 18-34 vs. the prior year in August.  “Pasion De Gavilanes” maintained its #1 spot at 7 p.m. delivering more viewers than all its Hispanic cable competitors, up +100% (176,000) in total viewers, +79% (113,000) in adults 18-49 and +26% (59,000) in adults 18-34 vs. the prior year in August.
