MUN2 RECORDS BEST MONTH IN NETWORK HISTORY AND CONTINUES AS LEADING BILINGUAL CABLE NETWORK
LOS ANGELES – December 2, 2010 – Continuing its upward ratings climb, Telemundo’s mun2 recorded its best month in the network’s history during Monday through Sunday primetime, according to Nielsen Media Research. The network scored a total of 103,000 Persons 2+, 48,000 Persons 18-34, 65,000 Persons 18-49 and 62,000 Persons 12-34 during primetime. On pace to mark its best year ever among all key demos, mun2 maintains a solid No. 1 spot in the young Latino space with a 79% Persons 18-34 audience share versus Tr3s: MTV, Musica y Mas, and comes in as the second most watched Hispanic cable network, with a 32% Persons 18-34 share of audience against Galavision.
Other time periods that reached record-breaking delivery include: Monday through Friday 7pm-11pm (113,000 Persons 2+, 55,000 Persons 18-34, 72,000 Persons 18-49, and 72,000 Persons 12-34); Saturday 7pm-11pm (115,000 Persons 2+, 44,000 Persons 18-34, 68,000 Persons 18-49 & 54,000 Persons 12-34); Monday through Sunday 8am-2am (57,000 Persons 2+, 27,000 Persons 18-34, 35,000 Persons 18-49 & 35,000 Persons 12-34). With triple-digit growth, this marks the third month in a row that mun2 reaches year-over-year increases in Monday through Sunday primetime. The network increased by +84% during October 2010, and +33% during September 2010 among P18-34.
For the month of November and among Hispanic Persons during Monday through Sunday primetime, mun2 out-delivered Discovery E, FOX Deportes, GolTV, ESPN Deportes and Tr3s across Persons 2+ (97,000 viewers), Persons 12-34 (59,000 viewers), and Persons 18-34 (46,000 viewers). Additionally, mun2 grabbed larger P18-49 (61,000) audiences against FOX Deportes, ESPN Deportes, Tr3s: MTV, Musica y Mas, and GolTV.
The hit reality show Jenni Rivera Presents: Chiquis & Raq-C remains one of the network’s most watched shows during weekends. In its second run, the show experienced a +39% Persons 18-34 increase during its Saturday 3pm time period, yielding 39,000 Persons 18-34, and is up +29% during its Sunday 1pm repeat run, grabbing 36,000 Persons 18-34.
Decisiones Extremas experienced its best audience to date with a record-breaking delivery of 114,000 Persons 18-34 on its Monday through Thursday 10pm time slot. The show gained +44% more Persons 18-34 vs. last month.
Soy Tu Fan continues to draw more viewers compared to prior month, delivering 22,000 Persons 18-34 on Thursday and Sunday nights, a growth of +29% from October 2010 in Persons 18-34.
With 42,000 Persons 18-34, mun2 original The mun2 Shuffle experienced spectacular growth, delivering +163% more viewers vs. prior month. The show is the No. 1 program on mun2 during the You’re On Weekends 12pm-4pm time period.
Digital Audience Delivery
HOLAMUN2.COM generated over 4 million total page views during the month of November 2010, (+8% versus one year ago). Soy Tu Fan, mun2’s new hit import from Mexico, delivered a substantial growth in page views, up +154% vs. prior month.
