According to research by MTV Insights, there’s a great deal of nostalgia for MTV’s “My Super Sweet 16.” Seventy-five percent of 18-to 24-year-olds say they loved watching the series and 50% say “it played a big part in my growing up.” Fifty percent of 18- to 24-year-olds also say they “get nostalgic for MTV’s Super Sweet 16.” These figures are supported by broader insights collected by MTV on its Millennial audience.  According to MTV Insights, Millennials love to “eventize” moments in their lives, from everyday ordinary occasions to milestones such as a Sweet 16 party.  Social media has transformed the Sweet 16 experience in recent years.  While Millennials still dream of the big, highly personalized blowout, capturing these events across social media is nearly important to them as the event itself.
