‘I CAN DO THAT’ GROWS DESPITE FACING NBA FINALS COMPETITON THAT INCREASED ABC’S RATING IN THE SLOT BY 10 TIMES VERSUS LAST WEEK IN THE LOCAL PEOPLE METERS

 

IT’S THE TOP RATING BY A NEW SUMMER SERIES ON THE BIG 4 IN THE TWO WEEKS SINCE ‘I CAN DO THAT’ DEBUTED ON MAY 26

 

‘AMERICA’S GOT TALENT’ RETAINS 96% OF LAST WEEK’S RATING – THE #1 NON-SPORTS RESULT OF THAT WEEK ON THE BIG 4 – DESPITE LAST NIGHT’S NBA COMPETITION

 

Tuesday Results:

·         “America’s Got Talent” (2.3/8 in 18-49, 10.3 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) ranked as the #1 Big 4 telecast of the night, excluding ABC’s NBA programming, in every key measure – adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers.

·         Despite facing NBA Finals competition, “America’s Got Talent” retained 96% of last week’s 2.4 in 18-49, which was the #1 rating of that week for a non-sports show on the Big 4. In total viewers, “Talent” retained 95%  of last week’s 10.839 million, which was also #1 for that week on the Big 4 excluding sports.

·         “America’s Got Talent” will grow substantially via time-shifting – last week’s telecast increased by +27% in 18-49 going from L+SD to L+3 (2.44 to 3.08).  In total viewers, “Talent” grew by 1.9 million persons (from 10.8 million to 12.7 million).

·         “I Can Do That” (1.6/5 in 18-49, 5.7 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) grew week to week by +7% in 18-49 (1.6 vs. 1.5) and +6% in total viewers (5.688 million vs. 5.340 million) despite facing NBA Finals competition last night that increased ABC’s rating by 10 times versus last week in the Local People Meters (9.6 in the hour this week vs. 0.9 last week in the 25 markets with Local People Meters).

·         “I Can Do That” posted the highest rating for any first-year summer series on the Big 4 since the “I Can Do That”  premiere did a 1.8 on May 26.  It was also the #2 rating summer to date for any new series on the Big 4, behind only that May 26 premiere.

·         Excluding ABC’s NBA programming, “I Can Do That” delivered the #2 rating of the night on the Big 4 in every key demographic, behind only “Talent.”

 

·         “I Can Do That,” which is the #1 new series this summer on the Big 4 in 18-49, will add significant viewership via time-shifting – last week’s telecast increased by +19% in 18-49 going from L+SD to L+3 (1.48 to 1.76). In total viewers, “I Can Do That” grew by 711,000 persons (from 5.3 million to 6.1 million).
