“Nightline” Posts Year-to-Year Increases in All Key Demos

 

 

ABC News’ “Nightline” ranked No. 1 in all key target demos: Total Viewers (1.633 million), Adults 25-54 (681,000) and Adults 18-49 (536,000) during the week of April 20, 2015, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research.  Nightline has ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers in 24 of the last 27 weeks.   

 

“Nightline” built on the year-ago week (1.499 million, 628,000, and 474,000, respectively, on w/o 4/21/14) in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+9%), Adults 25-54 (+8%) and Adults 18-49 (+14%).

 

“Nightline’s” Friday telecast (4/24/15) stood as the week’s No. 1 telecast in all key target demos Total Viewers (2.290 million), Adults 25-54 (1.064 million) and Adults 18-49 (890,000), beating every telecast of the week of CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” and NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”  In fact, it was “Nightline’s” top telecast in both key adult demos in nearly 2 years – since 6/18/13 and 6/20/13, respectively.

 

Season to date, ABC News’ “Nightline” ranks No. 1 in Total Viewers (1.701 million), outdelivering CBS’ average of “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson”/”The Late Late Show”/”The Talk – After Dark/The Late Late Show with James Corden” (+320,000) and NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” (161,000)In addition, “Nightline” is up in Total Viewers (+2% – 1.701 million vs. 1.672 million) compared to the same point last season.

 

ABC News’ “Nightline” is anchored by Dan Harris, Juju Chang and Byron Pitts. Roxanna Sherwood is executive producer, and Steven Baker is Senior Broadcast Producer. The program airs weeknights from 12:35-1:05 a.m., ET on the ABC Television Network. Together with “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “Nightline” is part of ABC’s winning late night strategy of airing news and entertainment programming.
