For the first time, the site will provide unprecedented coverage and access to the Oscars: from nominations morning to the glamorous red carpet, into the Kodak Theatre, backstage, and culminating at the Academy’s official post-ceremony celebration, the Governors Ball. provides a level of access into an awards show never before experienced by an online audience and is designed to be a perfect companion to the Oscar telecast.

On Oscar Sunday, will offer unparalleled access to a multitude of cameras, providing online users with the ultimate insider’s view of Hollywood’s biggest night. Special cameras will take viewers live, behind the scenes to the Thank You Cam — offering winners an extended opportunity to thank their supporters; Backstage Cam — capturing sound bites, backstage action, short interviews and behind-the-scenes footage; Control Room cam – allowing users to watch the show’s director in action; and Press Room Cam — featuring moments of winners in the press area.

Additionally, will offer a special “All Access“ premium feature that makes Hollywood’s biggest event even more accessible to movie lovers, allowing them to follow their favorite stars from the minute they set foot on the red carpet to the exclusive moments backstage and beyond. For $4.99, users will have access to additional live video footage of the evening’s events and will be able to direct their own experience on the red carpet and inside the ceremony using groundbreaking “360 cam” technology to control multiple cameras with the click/drag functionality of their computer mouse. “All-Access” coverage continues immediately following the Academy Awards presentation with special admission into the Governors Ball.

On January 25, will launch “Road to the Oscars” with full coverage of the nominations announcement, beginning at 5:30 a.m., PT. The webcast will be hosted by Chris Harrison of ABC’s “The Bachelor” and Dave Karger, senior writer at Entertainment Weekly, and will include Academy President Tom Sherak and Oscar-winning actress Mo’Nique announcing several categories of nominees.

On February 15, the site will introduce “Oscars Designer Challenge 2011,” which gives fans the opportunity to choose the dress that one of the Trophy Escorts will wear on stage. Voting begins on February 15 and runs through February 21, with the winning design unveiled live on-air during the “Oscar’s Red Carpet Live” pre-show on ABC. A special “Behind the Dress” video series documenting this year’s Designer Challenge will premiere on on February 16.

On February 18,”Road to the Oscars” will return as a daily online show on Hosted again by Chris Harrison and Dave Karger, the episodes will cover all of the special events leading up to the awards, as well as feature news updates, interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and analysis of each of the 10 Best Picture nominees.

Additionally, the site is home to “My Oscar Picks” – the official interactive play-along game that offers fans a chance to test their Oscar prediction skills. On Oscar Night, users play along during the show and predict category winners ahead of the opening of the envelopes.

In the coming weeks, will launch “Oscar Tweets,” allowing fans to pull back the veil and see the Academy Awards through the eyes of the people that know them best — the insiders.
