Cabler To Expand “Full Frontal Fashion” Franchise with New Series

Network Greenlights Acclaimed Series “Brick City” for a Second Season

New York – February 9, 2010 – Sundance Channel EVP and GM Sarah Barnett today unveiled a slate of new design-inspired series in development for Sundance Channel as well as four original series in development for the network’s multiplatform strand Full Frontal Fashion.

Sundance Channel has also greenlit a second season of its acclaimed documentary series “Brick City.”  Produced by award-winning actor Forest Whitaker and acclaimed filmmakers Marc Levin and Mark Benjamin, the second season of “Brick City” promises to be another dramatic and no-holds-barred look at the immense challenges facing the city of Newark, NJ.  Through the lens of local characters, including Newark’s charismatic mayor, Cory Booker, the filmmakers will look at the issues that continue to confront a city undergoing tremendous change.

Development deals have been locked with Emmy-nominated production partners including Authentic Media, Full Picture, Magical Elves, Renegade 83 and World of Wonder, known for creating some of the most popular series on television today including “Man Shops Globe,” “Project Runway”, “Top Chef”, “Ace of Cakes”, and “Blind Date.”

Barnett said: “With its focus on the latest from the worlds of fashion and design, our slate is tailor-made, literally, for Sundance Channel viewers. Our audience wants to be in the know about reigning tastemakers and trendsetters who are leading their respective industries as well as who and what is around the corner in terms of creativity and design.”

Launched on Sundance Channel in September 2009, FULL FRONTAL FASHION is a multiplatform destination devoted to the latest from the heady world of fashion.  In addition to original series on Sundance Channel, features exclusive up-to-the-minute reports by contributors including Lynn Yaeger, Patrick McMullan, Aya Kanai, Robin Sayers and Cator Sparks.  Beginning this week, the site debuts two new original series– “Catwalk Countdown” and Douglas Keeve’s “Dirty Denim”.

This docu-series follows identical twins Teman and Teran Evans, Harvard educated jewelry designers, production designers and architects as they develop and execute time sensitive projects.  Series produced by Renegade 83 Entertainment (“Blind Date,” “Gone Country”).

Using his impeccable taste and design instincts, branding guru Brian Collins tackles branding and design problems at some of the biggest and most famous companies in the world. Series produced by Magnet Media.

Brian Stark’s Brand Equity Showroom is an agency representing men’s and women’s contemporary and street wear designers, including Bench, Degaine and Fidelity Denim.  Follow Brian as he identifies new and emerging designers, sells them into retail stores around the world, and oversees his clients’ runway shows, press tours, and special events.  Making it into Brian’s stable is hard, but failing Brian is even harder. Series produced by Magical Elves (“Project Runway,” “Top Chef”).

In each episode our expert host meets an emerging fashion designer whose line is in crisis.   The host will work with the designer to deconstruct the problems in their line and get the designer in front of a buyer who can make or break their dreams.  Series produced by Authentic Entertainment (“Ace of Cakes,” “Flipping Out”).

With two fashion insiders as hosts, they meet an emerging designer in each episode whose line is not working.  Through a critical and creative process that transforms the product, our designer is forced to sink or swim in a real world environment.  Producers: World of Wonder (“Man Shops Globe,” “Tori + Dean: Inn Love”).

Every renowned fashion designer has his/her muse – a celebrity who embodies the designer’s unique vision of style and beauty.  This series follows iconoclastic designers as they each create a new piece for their muses to model, and explores the exclusive and private relationship between the artist and their inspiration.  Series produced by Jane Cha of Full Picture (“Project Runway”).
