Univision the #2 Broadcast Network on Three Nights Among ALL Adults 18-34

Univision Highlights – NPM Broadcast Prime Week of 01/03/11

•     Univision was the #2 ranked broadcast network in primetime on three nights last week among Adults 18-34: Tuesday (1.2 million), Friday (1.2 million) and Saturday (573,000).

•       Last week, Univision out-delivered ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX on 6 out of 7 nights among Adults 18-34 and Teens 12-17; on 5 out of 7 nights among Adults 18-49; and on 3 out of 7 nights among Total Viewers 2+.

•     For the week, Univision had 6 of the Top 30 broadcast programs among Teens 12-17 and 3 of the Top 30 programs among Adults 18-34.

•     Sixteen weeks into the 2010-11 Season, Univision is currently the broadcast network reporting the highest primetime increases versus the comparable weeks in the prior season among Adults 18-49 (+11%), Adults 18-34 (+10%) and Adults 25-54(+10%).

•     Univision finished the week as the #1 broadcast network in overall primetime among Kids 2-11 (507,000), beating its closest competitor, FOX, by +8%.  Additionally, Univision ranked #5 among Total Viewers 2+ (3.5 million), Adults 18-49 (1.7 million), Adults 18-34 (940,000) and Teens 12-17 (229,000).

•     Last Monday night, Maite Perroni and William Levy’s much-anticipated return to primetime in the novela “Triunfo del Amor”(Triumph of Love; 9pm ET/PT, 8pm Central) generated nearly 5.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 2.6 million Adults 18-49, 1.5 million Adults 18-34 and 1.9 million Persons 12-34.

o   Additionally, the premiere of “Triunfo del Amor” (Triumph of Love) made U.S. Television history as the second most-watched Spanish-Language novela premiere among ALL Viewers 2+.

o   In its premiere week, “Triunfo del Amor” (Triumph of Love) helped Univision take the #2 broadcast network position, behind ABC, in the 9pm hour among Adults 18-34 (1.4 million), Teens 12-17 (358,000) and Persons 12-34 (1.7 million).

o   “Triunfo del Amor” (Triumph of Love) was the #2 program on broadcast television on Tuesday (1.5 million) and Friday night (1.3 million) among Adults 18-34.

•     In the 8pm hour, “Eva Luna” made Univision the #3 broadcast network among Adult 18-34 (1.2 million), Women 18-34 (683,000), Teens 12-17 (266,000) and Persons 12-34 (1.5 million), beating FOX, NBC and CW.

•     Univision’s checkerboard programming block at 10pm from Monday to Friday helped the network capture the #4 broadcast ranking among Adults 18-34 (896,000) in the time period and #3 among Teens 12-17 (245,000) and Persons 12-34 (1.1 million).
