Premiere Makes Univision Stations No. 1 in the Time Period in Los Angeles, Miami and Houston with Key Demos


MIAMI – NOVEMBER 9, 2012 – More than 5.5 million viewers tuned-in to all or part of the Univision Network’s one-hour premiere of “Amores Verdaderos” (True Love) on Wednesday, November 7 at 9 p.m. ET/PT (8 p.m. Central). Wednesday night’s premiere also delivered an average audience of 4.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 2.4 million Adults 18-49 and 1.3 million Adults 18-34. In comparison to the premieres of Univision’s top two primetime novelas of all-time – “Soy Tu Dueña” and “Amor Real,”  “Amores Verdaderos” was watched by more Total Viewers 2+ and Adults 18-49.


In the time period, “Amores Verdaderos” made Univision the No. 4 network (broadcast or cable) among Adults 18-34, beating CBS, and the No. 5 network among Total Viewers 2+ and Adults 18-49. For the entire night on Wednesday, Univision finished as the No. 5 network among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.


The one-hour novela premiere was the fifth ranked program of the night in all of television among Adults 18-34, beating first-run episodes of ABC’s (“The Middle,” “Nashville” and “The Neighbors”), CBS’ entire primetime line-up (“Survivor: Philippines,” “Criminal Minds” and “CSI”), NBC’s (“Chicago Fire”) and the CW’s entire primetime line-up (“Arrow” and “Supernatural”).


On local Univision stations, “Amores Verdaderos” made Univision the No. 1 broadcast station in the time period  among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 in Los Angeles, Miami and Houston. The novela premiere also ranked as the No. 1 broadcast program in primetime in Houston among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34, and in Miami among Adults 18-34.


As part of the launch of, the bilingual digital network for Hispanic America, users were able to catch a 20-minute sneak peek of the first episode of “Amores Verdaderos,” making it one of the most watched long-form videos for Univision.


In conjunction with the novela’s premiere, fans were able to partake in a Twitter party with members of the novela’s cast, as well as Univision personalities Lourdes Stephen, host of “Sal y Pimienta” (Salt & Pepper) and Ana Patricia Gonzalez from “Despierta América” (Wake-Up America). In addition, fans tuning-in to “Amores Verdaderos” that checked in to GetGlue were able to unlock a special sticker and can continue to do so throughout the novela’s run. Additionally, viewers commenting along with the novela on social media, and responding to related questions, will have the opportunity to have their Tweets or Facebook posts featured on-screen every week, as well as a chance to be named fan of the week.


Fans of “Amores Verdaderos” can find complete episodes at and on the UVideos App 24-hours after episodes air. In addition, fans can access previews and highlights, video interviews with the stars, character bios and photos, and interactive content throughout the novela’s run.
