“The Great Christmas Light Fight” (8:00-10:00 p.m. – 5.3 million and 1.4/4 in AD18-49):

For the 2nd week in a row, ABC’s “The Great Christmas Light Fight” was up from its year-ago telecast in Total Viewers (+33% – 5.3 million vs. 4.0 million) and Adults 18-49 (+40% – 1.4/4 vs. 1.0/3) matching the program’s 2nd-best Adults 18-49 performance ever behind only the prior week. Head to head from 8:00-10:00 p.m., the ABC holiday program dominated Fox’s special “American Country Countdown Awards” (3.4 million and 0.9/3) by 1.9 million viewers and by 56% in Adults 18-49.

 

Tuesday

“A Charlie Brown Christmas” (8:00-9:00 p.m. – 6.3 million and 1.8/6 in AD18-49):

From 8:00-9:00 p.m., ABC’s second replay this season of “A Charlie Brown Christmas” took second to CBS’ original “NCIS,” beating NBC’s debut of “Elf: Buddy’s Musical Christmas” by 1.5 million viewers (6.3 million vs. 4.8 million) and by 38% in Adults 18-49 (1.8/6 vs. 1.3/4). In addition, ABC’s special PEANUTS replay beat Fox’s season finale of “Masterchef Junior” in the hour by 6% among Adults 18-49 (1.8/6 vs. 1.7/6) and finished as the No. 1 broadcast show of the night with Kids 2-11 (2.0/7).

 

“Disney Prep & Landing” (9:00-9:30 p.m. – 4.2 million and 1.3/4 in AD18-49):

At 9:00 p.m. opposite NBC’s “The Voice” finale, ABC’s annual rebroadcast of “Disney Prep & Landing” was up over its year-ago telecast (on 12/16/13) by 8% in Total Viewers (4.2 million vs. 3.9 million) and by 44% in Adults 18-49 (1.3/4 vs. 0.9/3).   

 

 

 

“Disney Prep & Landing 2: Naughty vs. Nice” (9:30-10:00 p.m. – 3.6 million and 1.2/4 in AD18-49):

At 9:30 p.m. against the second half-hour of “The Voice,” ABC’s encore of “Disney Prep & Landing 2: Naughty vs. Nice” built on its year-ago telecast (on 12/16/13) by 6% in Total Viewers (3.6 million vs. 3.4 million) and by 33% in Adults 18-49 (1.2/4 vs. 0.9/2).   

Wednesday

“The Middle/The Goldbergs” (8:00-9:00 p.m. – 5.2 million and 1.3/5 in AD18-49):

Encores of ABC’s “The Middle” and “The Goldbergs” ranked second in the 8 o’clock hour among Adults 18-49 (1.3/5), tying original telecasts of Fox’s “Hell’s Kitchen” (1.3/4) and NBC’s “Michael Buble’s Christmas in New York” (1.3/4).

“Modern Family” (9:00-9:31 p.m. – 6.0 million and 1.7/5 in AD18-49):

In the 9:30 p.m. half-hour, ABC’s repeat “Modern Family” finished second among Adults 18-49 (1.7/5), beating originals of NBC’s “The Sing Off” by 13% (1.5/5) and Fox’s “Hell’s Kitchen” by 42% (1.2/4).

 

Friday

“Shark Tank” (9:00-10:01 p.m. – 5.4 million and 1.3/5 in AD18-49):

In the 9 o’clock hour, ABC’s repeat “Shark Tank” beat CBS’ original “Home for the Holidays” by 2.3 million Total Viewers (5.4 million vs. 3.1 million) and by 160% in Adults 18-49 (1.3/5 vs. 0.5/2). “Shark Tank” delivered its highest-rated repeat Adult 18-49 rating since March – since 3/28/14.

Saturday

“20/20-Saturday” (10:00-11:00 p.m. – 4.0 million and 0.8/3 in AD18-49):

ABC’s “20/20-Saturday” was up over its most-recent regular telecast (on 8/9/14) by 38% in Total Viewers (4.0 million vs. 2.9 million), 100% in Adults 18-49 (0.8/3 vs. 0.4/2) and 71% in Adults 25-54 (1.2/4 vs. 0.7/2) to deliver its best numbers since mid-March – since 3/15/14.

Sunday

“The Sound of Music” (7:00-11:00 p.m. – 5.6 million and 1.2/4 in AD18-49):

Opposite NFL-fueled competition on NBC (Sunday Night Football) and CBS (NFL primetime overrun), ABC’s annual rebroadcast of “The Sound of Music” beat Fox’s Sunday comedy lineup by 3.5 million viewers (5.6 million vs. 2.1 million) and 33% in Adults 18-49 (1.2/4 vs. 0.9/3).   From its first hour to its final hour, the 1965 theatrical movie gained 1.7 million viewers (4.5 million to 6.3 million) and shot up 56% in Adults 18-49 (0.9/3 to 1.4/4).  In fact, during its final hour from 10:00-11:00 p.m., “The Sound of Music” beat CBS’ original dramas among Adults 18-49 (1.4/4 vs. 1.3/4 = “The Mentalist”/”CSI”).

·         “The Sound of Music” scored its 2nd-best numbers in 4 years in both Total Viewers and Adults 18-49 – since 2010.
