CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH CHARLES OSGOOD celebrated St. Patrick’s Day weekend as the #1 Sunday morning news program in households, viewers and adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for March 18. CBS SUNDAY MORNING posted a 3.4/10 with 4.87m viewers, 1.2/06 in adults 25-54. Compared to the same day last year, CBS SUNDAY MORNING was up +3% in households (from 3.3/09). Season-to-date, CBS SUNDAY MORNING is up +3% in households (3.7/10 from 3.6/10), and +1% in viewers (5.31m from 5.27m) compared to last year.
The broadcast featured Richard Roth’s interview with Ireland’s Musical Ambassadors, The Chieftains, as they marked 50 years of musical history together with a world tour and a new album. Correspondent Mo Rocca caught up with former Will & Grace star Eric McCormack, who shed his “nice guy” persona in a Broadway turn as a conniving politician. In addition, Rita Braver visited the Smithsonian Museum’s new exhibit, The Art of Video Games, Steve Hartman toured the country’s only museum dedicated to the history of cleaning and 48 Hours Mystery correspondent Susan Spencer looked at why even the arrival of spring can’t help some people shake the winter blues.
