“CBS SUNDAY MORNING” REMAINS THE #1 SUNDAY MORNING NEWS PROGRAM
CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH CHARLES OSGOOD posted year-to-year gains in viewers and adults 25-54, and remained the #1 Sunday morning news program in both categories, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Nov. 30.
CBS SUNDAY MORNING averaged 5.99 million viewers and a 1.4/07 with adults 25-54, the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news. Compared to the same day last year, CBS SUNDAY MORNING was up +8% adults 25-54 (from 1.3/06) and up +7% in viewers (from 5.60m).
Season-to-date, CBS SUNDAY MORNING is up +3% in viewers (5.93m from 5.77m) and even in adults 25-54 (1.4/07) compared to last year.
Sunday’s broadcast featured Lee Cowan’s look at the Make A Wish Foundation; Mo Rocca’s interview with Chris Rock; Martha Teichner’s report on an effort to preserve Civil and Revolutionary war battlefields across the country; Serena Altschul’s profile of performance artist Marina Abramovic; Bill Geist’s report from Pie Town, N.M.; Mark Phillips interview with Hunter Davies about the handwritten works of The Beatles; and Steve Hartman’s story about the impact of country music lyrics on young listeners.
