“Annie Claus is Coming to Town” Made Hallmark Channel the #1 Prime Time Cable Network for the Day Among W25-54 and Delivered a 2.2 HH Rating


“The Christmas Pageant” Scores 2.3 HH Rating


Hallmark Channel’s “Countdown to Christmas” franchise continues to fare strongly with the original premieres of “Annie Claus is Coming to Town” on Saturday, December 10th and “The Christmas Pageant” on Sunday, December 11th. “The Christmas Pageant” scored a 2.3 HH rating, while “Annie Claus is Coming to Town” delivered a 2.2 HH rating. Hallmark Channel continues to corner the market with its highly-rated holiday programming suitable for the whole family. “The Christmas Pageant” and “Annie Claus is Coming to Town” hold the honor as the #1 and #2 movies of the week, respectively. The premieres of the two original films reached a combined audience of 6.9 million unduplicated viewers.


“Annie Claus is Coming to Town” ranked #1 in W25-54 for the Saturday 8-10p time period, and lifted Hallmark Channel to the #1 prime time cable network for the day among W25-54 (1.3 rtg). The movie was also the #1 rated ad-supported cable movie of the day, placing #2 in P2+ (1.2 rtg), #3 in HH (2.2 rtg), and #3 in W18-49 (1.0 rtg) for the time period.


“The Christmas Pageant”, the #1 movie of the week, ranked #1 in HH and P2+ rating for the Sunday 8-10p time period. The film also ranked among the top 10 for the time period in HH and key demo delivery, including #2 in HH (1,966,000). “The Christmas Pageant” boosted Hallmark Channel to be the #2 rated cable network in prime time for the day among HH (1.9 HH rtg).


In “Annie Claus is Coming to Town,” Santa’s daughter, Annie Claus (Thayer), travels to Los Angeles in search of love and adventure. Santa watches his Annie through a magic snow globe as his daughter finds a job and a blossoming romance. Unbeknownst to Annie, there is a senior Santa Elf edging to inherit the Ho Ho Ho of Holidays and he hires an actor to win Annie over to insure that she leaves the North Pole permanently. Starring Maria Thayer, Sam Page, and Vivica A. Fox.


“The Christmas Pageant” stars Emmy® and Golden Globe nominee Melissa Gilbert (“Little House on the Prairie”) as Vera Parks – an overly intense and demanding Broadway director gets fired from yet another job, leaving her no choice but to take a small town gig in upstate New York. Though Vera begrudgingly accepts the job, she becomes a better person as a result – even falling back in love with her former fiancé, Jack. The film also stars Robert Mailhouse and Edward Hermann.
