Morris Levy’s Cannes Hit Seduced and Abandoned to air on HBO Oct 28

Critically Acclaimed Alec Baldwin’s entertaining look at the film business

(NEW YORK) Oct. 21, 2013 – Executive Producer Morris S. Levy’s Seduced and Abandoned, starring Alec Baldwin, featuring Jessica Chastain, Ryan Gosling, Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola, is scheduled to air on Oct 28th on HBO network.

The critics are raving with The Hollywood Reporter calling it “a sharp and entertaining documentary,” and  Variety says it’s “a spirited, highly amusing and endearingly shambolic documentary about film, money, Cannes and death, roughly in that order.”

“I’m thrilled to help bring in financing on a film that is about what it takes to finance a film and have been grateful for how well its been received,” says Levy.

The film combines Alec Baldwin with director James Toback as they lead the audience on a troublesome and often hilarious journey of raising financing for their next feature film, and features insights from directors Martin Scorsese, Bernardo Bertolucci and Roman Polanski, actors Ryan Gosling and Jessica Chastain and a host of film distribution luminaries.  Moving from director to financier to star actor,  the film, which was shot at Cannes, follows the two players to provide a unique look behind the curtain at the world’s biggest and most glamorous film festival, shining a light on the bitter-sweet relationship filmmakers have with Cannes and the film business.  The project was picked up by HBO prior to its 2013 Cannes premiere in the Special Screenings section.

Levy first gained critical acclaim with his feature Descent starring Rosario Dawson and The Ten starring Paul Rudd, Jessica Alba and Winona Ryder. Most recently he has produced the just completed film, Affluenza, a ‘Great Gatsby’ for the younger generation, written and directed by Kevin Asch (“Holly Rollers” with Jesse Eisenberg). Next up for Levy includes: a comedy web series with well-known comedians that takes the viewer behind the scenes in a new and entertaining way; reuniting with actor Steve Guttenberg to produce an optioned teen drama book which they are close to attaching a major young star; he will also produce the Rocky Marciano life story, which is currently being written by a Hollywood A-lister.  Marciano was the only heavyweight to retire undefeated at 49-0.
