November 19, 2012 (New York, NY) – MTV2, MTV’s sibling network, today announced the exclusive premiere of “Tech N9ne’s Hostile Takeover: The Story Behind the Tour,” chronicling Tech N9ne’s historic 2012 Hostile Takeover tour, on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. ET/PT following all new episodes of “The Week in Jams” and “The Dub Magazine Project.”
“93 shows in 104 days is almost impossible for anyone to do,” said Tech N9ne. “I say almost because we did it, successfully, with a few bumps and confrontations along the way, but that’s nothing when it comes to making hip hop history. Here’s a peek at it.”
The 30-minute documentary, narrated by MTV News’ Sway Calloway, will take viewers behind the scenes with independent pioneer, Strange Music founder and hip hop legend, Tech N9ne as he prepared, embarked and, ultimately, reflects on the longest consecutive rap tour in music history, performing in over 90 cities in just over 100 days. Joined on the road by fellow rappers MGK, Krizz Kaliko, ¡Mayday! and featuring an appearance by T-Pain, “The Story Behind the Tour” sheds an intimate light on everything from Tech’s rules of the road to the personal struggles and personality clashes that occur while on tour, his budding relationship with MGK and the aftermath of losing a friend on the road. Fans will also be treated to amazing performance footage from the tour.
“Tech N9ne’s Hostile Takeover: The Story Behind the Tour” is executive produced by Eric Conte for MTV2, Travis O’Guin, Aaron Yates and Noah Jolles. Dan Gedman, Curtis Schmidt and Anthony Devera serve as producers.
