PREMIERE OF “PA’ LANTE CON CRISTINA” DELIVERS TRIPLE DIGIT YEAR-OVER-YEAR GROWTH AMONG TOTAL VIEWERS AND ADULTS 18-49
Primetime Premiere Hosted by Emmy® Award-winning Media Icon Cristina Saralegui Reaches Nearly 2.9 Million Total Viewers
MIAMI – October 11, 2011 – The premiere of Spanish-language television’s most anticipated new show, “Pa’ Lante con Cristina,” hosted by 12-time Emmy® Award-winning media icon Cristina Saralegui, delivered triple digit year-over-year increases for its time period among total viewers and adults 18-49 nationally, and double and triple digit increases across key markets including New York, Miami, Houston and Los Angeles, according to Nielsen. The program’s premiere on Sunday, October 9 at 7PM EST/6 CT–which featured regional Mexican artist Joan Sebastian, Telemundo artists Jencarlos Canela and Gaby Espino, and Mexican Superstar Gloria Trevi–reached a cumulative audience of nearly 2.9 million (2,868,000) total viewers (persons 2+) and more than 1.6 million (1,624,000) adults 18-49.
“Pa’ Lante con Cristina” averaged nearly 1.2 million (1,185,000) total viewers and 636,000 adults 18-49, doubling the time period delivery among total viewers and adults 18-49, as compared to October 2010.
Locally, “Pa’ Lante con Cristina” delivered +98% growth among total viewers and +59% growth among adults 18-49 on WNJU New York; +348% among total viewers and +497% among adults 18-49 on WSCV Miami; +147% among total viewers and +234% among adults 18-49 on KTMD Houston, and +129% among total viewers and +96% among adults 18-49 on KVEA Los Angeles.
The “Pa’ Lante con Cristina” fan base on Facebook and Twitter grew +48% after the first episode, reaching 13,206 fans and 2,773 followers respectively. #PalanteConCristina was trending in Miami during the episode’s East Coast broadcast.
“Pa’ Lante con Cristina” continues next Sunday at 7PM EST/6 CT with a performance from Pitbull, who opens up to Cristina about his childhood and rise to fame, a look at what happens behind-the-scenes at Telemundo’s primetime novela, “Mi Corazón Insiste,” and a revealing discussion with Latin singer Natalia Jimenez.
