Sourcebooks Acquires US Rights for Hit International

Bestselling Television Series

NEW YORK, February 20, 2015 THE RETURNED is based on the popular and International Emmy-award winning French suspense television series, Les Revenants, which inspired A&E’s forthcoming US adaptation that will premiere on March 9, 2015.

Carlton Cuse (Bates Motel and The Strain) and Raelle Tucker (True Blood) are the executive producers of A&E’s The Returned with a cast that includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim), Mark Pellegrino (Lost), Sandrine Holt (House of Cards), Jeremy Sisto (Suburgatory), Sophie Lowe (Once Upon a Time in Wonderland), Kevin Alejandro (Arrow) and Michelle Forbes (Battlestar Galactica).

Pan Macmillan UK originally published the novelization of the series in 2014, after the show attracted nearly eight million viewers over the eight episodes and quickly became a cult phenomenon with high-profile fans such as Stephen King. Sourcebooks will launch the US edition this spring, bringing this popular storyline to American fans.

Seth Patrick’s THE RETURNED focuses on a small town that is turned upside down when several locals, who are presumably dead after a devastating accident, suddenly reappear. The families of the dead believe their prayers to reunite with their loved ones have been answered, but what they don’t know yet is that the victims from the accident are not the only ones to return.  Their arrival coincides with a series of horrific murders, which bear a chilling resemblance to the work of a serial killer from the past…

THE RETURNED will hit bookshelves in North America on April 7, 2015.

SETH PATRICK was born in Northern Ireland. An Oxford mathematics graduate, he spent 13 years working as a games programmer on the award-winning Total War series before becoming a full-time author. He lives in England with his wife and two children. THE RETURNED is his second novel.
