STEVE ROTFELD PRODUCTIONS CLEARS NEW SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

TWO-HOUR E/I BLOCK WITH FOX STATION GROUP

Philadelphia, PA (December 17, 2013) — Steve Rotfeld, President of Steve Rotfeld Productions, announced today that SRP will be producing and distributing a new two-hour E/I science block for syndication in 2014/15 which has been picked up by the Fox Station Group.

The weekly block is called Xploration Nation and consists of four half-hour shows. It is based entirely on STEM content, an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The four shows will feature outer space, earth science, future technology, and animal science.

“With America falling behind in STEM education, leading corporations and concerned citizens are tackling one of the country’s most pressing challenges. We aim to be part of the solution, and judging from the overwhelmingly positive response, our partner stations do as well,” said Steve Rotfeld.

The Fox owned and operated stations have cleared the entire block.

“We take our kids programming very seriously, and feel that Xploration Nation is a rare, focused effort within the E/I world.  Its emphasis on STEM education is timely, important and should appeal to the 13-16 year old target age,” said Frank Cicha, senior VP of programming for the Fox Television Stations.

Other groups with Fox affiliates, including Tribune, have also picked up the block.

The STEM block adds to SRP’s existing roster of E/I shows, which includes the long running series’ Wild About Animals, hosted by Mariette Hartley, Awesome Adventures, hosted by Nicole Dabeau, andWhaddyado.
