Network Up Four Share Points Versus Prior Season
MIAMI – May 1, 2012 – Season-to-date, Telemundo continues to be the fastest growing broadcast network, regardless of language, in Monday through Sunday primetime and the only Spanish-language broadcast network with growth versus last season, posting a 13 percent increase, according to Nielsen. Additionally, Telemundo and NBC are the only broadcast networks with any growth versus last season.
Season-to-date in Monday through Sunday primetime, Telemundo grew +13% (1,228,000 vs. 1,082,000) from last season in total viewers (persons 2+), while Univision is down -2% and Telefutura is down -30%. In adults 18-49, Telemundo grew six percent (644,000 vs. 610,000) year-to-year, while Univison is down -1% and Telefutura -30%. NBC, the only other broadcast network with growth season to season, is up in both total viewers and adults 18-49.
For the 2011-2012 season-to-date, Telemundo has grown its share of Spanish viewing between Univision and Telefutura in Monday through Sunday primetime, up +4 points in total viewers versus last season (24% vs. 20%).
