Miami, Florida, July 21, 2015TEXAS TROCAS (#TexasTrocas), Discovery en Español’s most watched original series in 2014, returns to the network for a second season.  This docu-reality follows the Méndez, a Mexican-American family who began their trucking business 40 years ago with one big rig and a dream, growing to become one of the best in the country.  The 8-part series will air during Lunes de Motores, the network’s popular Monday night programming block dedicated to automotive content starting August 3rd at 10PM E/ 7PM P.

In this new installment of TEXAS TROCAS, the Méndez brothers (Raúl and Rolando) expand their South Texas shop testing the limits of their ingenuity and creativity with even more extreme big rig makeovers; from refurbishing the exclusive vehicle belonging to Ricky Muñoz, lead singer of the popular Tejano music group Intocable, to the first-ever competition between Raúl and Rolando to see who can create the most stunning truck design.

Powered by a solid ratings performance, TEXAS TROCAS was a major hit for Discovery en Español in 2014 positioning it as #1 on Spanish language pay TV on Monday nights at 10 PM E/P among adults 18-49[1].  The show was also the top rated premiering series for the channel in 2014, with its first season achieving a viewership + 138% above the prior 6 weeks (A18-49) in its timeslot.

The show is a production of Discovery Studios, LLC with Eddie Barbini (Dirty Jobs, Swamp Loggers and Manhunt) as the executive producer, under the supervision of Discovery Networks Latin America/U.S. Hispanic’s Michela Giorelli, Vice President of Production and Development and Irune Ariztoy, Senior Producer.

TEXAS TROCAS centers on Raúl Méndez Senior and his wife, Lupita — who are the heart and soul of the business known as Texas Chrome.  Located just south of San Antonio, the company employs dozens of people and owns close to 100 trucks and Raúl Méndez Senior and Lupita, in partnership with their two sons, Raúl and Rolando, have carved out a very successful truck renovation business. The series originally premiered September 2, 2014 to kick off the network’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month and extended through November 3.
