LONDON — U.S. musical comedy “Glee” looks on course to be a strong performer in the U.K. following its debut on digital web E4 on Monday.

Show, recently renewed for a second series by the Fox network, achieved the highest rating for an acquired program on E4 since an episode of heavy hitter “Lost” in August 2005.

“Glee” was watched by 1.3 million viewers — a 4.8% share — and looks destined to be a cult hit with the teen audience.
