A few weeks ago I asked our readers whether they thought CBS would yank A Gifted Man off the schedule before the November sweeps period begins (10/27 this season). By a very slight margin our readers thought CBS would. With just a couple days left, but effectively past the PR announcement date for such a change, it looks like our readers were wrong and AGM will survive through November. Perhaps after yanking its lowest performing drama 3 of the past 4 seasons, CBS has in fact turned over a new leaf and will let its biggest drama ratings loser ride through the November sweeps. Although, only the truly crazy would imagine that it’s going to last more than the 13 episodes already ordered, and there is no chance it gets renewed for a second season.

A “no surprise” update: Person Of Interest and Unforgettable given full season orders for this season. They’re both still a “toss up” for next season.

Lots of below average rated dramas for CBS this season, next week’s post headline “Traffic Jam At The Syndication Warehouse”

The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show’s new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It’s calculated by dividing a show’s new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show’s own network. The network’s average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).

(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.
