After 16 weeks of the 2008-9 season, through January 11, 2009, CBS continues to maintain its lead for average viewers and adults 18-49. Fox has now moved into the #3 position in average viewers and the #2 position for adults 18-49 for the season, up one position in each from last week.

CBS holds the largest season to date average audience with 10.98 million viewers, followed by ABC with 8.78 million, and Fox now third with 7.91 million. In the 18-49 demo, CBS holds a lead over Fox for highest average for adults 18-49 with 3.82 million vs. 3.75 million with NBC now third with 3.58 million.

While the differences in the key 18-49 demo are still quite small among the top 4, that’s beginning to shift now that NBC’s Sunday Night Football is over (although it will get a giant boost from the Super Bowl) and Fox has restarted American Idol and 24.

Sadly, we didn’t get adults 18-34 or adults 25-54 network season average data this week. I hope we see them net week.
