How desperate is ABC for Dancing With The Stars to begin? They just finished fourth last week in the all important adults 18-49 ratings, 0.3 ratings points behind NBC. With Dancing’s return last night, that’s going to change, but they may be stuck in fourth place for the season with the hole they’ve dug for themselves.

With the NCAA basketball tournament filling 3 nights of primetime, and providing a nice overrun boost to Sunday, CBS managed to tie Fox for the adults 18-49 crown for the week.

Will update later with the weekly adults 18-34 and 25-54 ratings.

Note that the chart includes RATINGS not VIEWERS as was typical in our weekly network ratings posts prior to July, 2009.

Each rating point is a percentage of the US TV population in that demographic group and equals: 2.90 million viewers, 1.32 million adults 18-49, 0.68 million adults 18-34 and 1.24 million adults 25-54.
