With the same 1.4 adults 18-49 rating as last week, Top Chefs’ finale led Wednesday cable although its average viewership slipped slightly.

Dark Blue was up a touch vs. last week in the second hour, both hit a 0.6 adults 18-49 rating. I believe the second hour was the season finale, but am not certain.

The entertainment media was all over itself last week wondering how FX’s Terriers could have premiered with such low ratings after all their glowing reviews. Well, the show fell to a 0.4 adults 18-49 rating, down from a 0.5 last week. Perhaps they’ll stage a repeat performance this week “You mean our reviews don’t matter? How do we then justify our paychecks?”

Update: Some wondered where I got the idea about the entertainment media and Terriers (a show I have nothing against!), here were two quotes a quick search of my RSS feed popped up.

LA Times “”Terriers,” FX’s new drama about a couple of seedy San Diego private eyes, premiered to disappointing  ratings despite mostly positive reviews.”

Deadline TV “This marks the lowest-rated drama series debut for FX, which was surprising given the show’s pedigree (it hails from The Shield creator Shawn Ryan and Ocean’s Eleven writer Ted Griffin, mostly positive reviews and extensive marketing campaign”
