While it was presumed that Disney/ABC/ESPN was the front runner, John Ourand of Sports Business Journal is reporting that NBC has again won the bid for the US broadcast TV rights for the next round of Olympics games. NBC has broadcast the Olympics since the 1984 Summer games.

Update: Reports are that the rights are for both the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics and 2016 Rio de Janeiro Summer Games, and the next two Olympics (sites not yet chosen).

Update 2: The four Olympics cost is reported to be $4.382 billion.

Update 3: Reports that NBC has confirmed all events will be live either on TV or the Internet.
