“The Daily Show” and “The Nightly Show” returned from their holiday breaks to an uptick in ratings, as both shows posted gains for the first week of 2016.
“The Daily Show’s” 0.33 rating in adults 18-49 and 836,000 viewers were up just slightly from the 0.32 and 823,000 in its last week of originals in December. “The Nightly Show” had somewhat larger gains, growing from 0.15 to 0.21 and 449,000 to 552,000 viewers.
“Conan” (0.36 in 18-49) was flat vs. the week of Dec. 14-18, and all the broadcast late-night shows save for “The Late Late Show” (which rose from 0.32 to 0.33) were down a little. (NBC notes, however, that “Late Night” improved on the same week in 2015.)
Here are the late-night numbers for Jan. 4-8.
