There was no change at the top of the late-night ratings last week, but the usual second- and third-place finishers switched spots.
ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” — which featured presidential candidate Hillary Clinton as a guest — finished ahead of CBS’ “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” in adults 18-49 and viewers for the week of Nov. 2-6. It’s the first time that’s happened (when both were airing original episodes) since Colbert took over “The Late Show” in early September.
On cable, “The Daily Show,” “The Nightly Show” and “Conan” were all up slightly vs. their most recent week of originals.
“Saturday Night Live,” meanwhile, had 9.27 million viewers and a 2.3 rating in adults 18-49 with host Donald Trump and musical guest Sia. It was the most-watched episode of the show since a Jimmy Fallon/Justin Timberlake Christmas show in December 2013. In other words, a very fine result but not quite as strong as the overnight metered markets suggested.
Here are the late-night numbers for Nov. 2-6.
Note: All but “The Tonight Show” aired repeats on Nov. 6. The Nov. 3 “JKL” was delayed by election coverage on local affiliates and is not part of the average.
