With multiple shows returning from a week off, there was a wave of predictable upticks in the late-night ratings for the week of Oct 21.

CBS’ “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” came back from a week off with a 0.38 average rating in adults 18-49, not only up from the 0.29 it averaged on hiatus, but also up slightly from its 0.37 average for the week of Oct. 7. NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” (0.41) and ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” (0.34) similarly returned with their highest averages in several weeks.

CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” (0.20) returned with a small but notable uptick as well, as did NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” (0.21) and “A Little Late with Lilly Singh” (0.15).

In cable, TBS’ “Conan” returned from a 3-week break with a 0.17, while Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” (0.09) took the week off, and suffered a predictable ratings drop.

Here are the late-night numbers for Oct. 21-25, 2019:

Notes: Oct. 25’s “Tonight,” “Late Night,” “Late Late Show,” and “A Little Late” were all encores. NBC’s Oct. 25 rebroadcasts are excluded from these averages. “Tonight” also aired a special Sunday edition, delayed by an NFL overrun.
